Key Responsibilities
- Feed and water poultry according to schedules.
- Monitor health and behavior of birds; report abnormalities to supervisors.
- Clean and disinfect pens, cages, equipment, and work areas.
- Collect and pack eggs with care and accuracy.
- Assist in vaccinations and other poultry care procedures.
- Operate and maintain basic farm machinery and tools.
- Load and unload supplies and poultry when necessary.
- Comply with animal welfare, health, and safety standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- No formal education required; High School Diploma or equivalent is a plus.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
- Willingness to perform physical and repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work in dusty, humid, and noisy environments.
- Basic understanding of animal care and farm hygiene practices (preferred but not required).
Experience
- No prior experience is necessary – training will be provided on the job.
- Previous work in agriculture, livestock, or manual labor roles is an asset but not mandatory.
Working Hours
- Full-time position (40 hours/week)
- Shifts may include early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- Overtime may be required depending on farm needs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong work ethic and dependability.
- Physical stamina for lifting, standing, and bending for long periods.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort working around live animals and handling poultry.
