Job Summary
Amazon is seeking a highly motivated and talented Computer Vision Machine Learning Intern to join our world-class technology team. This remote internship offers the opportunity to work with Amazon’s cutting-edge computer vision, deep learning, and AI systems powering innovations across our products and services. You will gain hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models, while collaborating with industry-leading engineers and researchers on real-world challenges in image and video understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable machine learning and computer vision models using large-scale datasets
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to build and optimize algorithms for object detection, facial recognition, image classification, and video analysis
- Assist in the collection, preprocessing, and annotation of image and video datasets
- Perform literature reviews and experiment with state-of-the-art techniques in deep learning and neural networks
- Evaluate model performance using statistical and analytical tools, and present findings to technical teams
- Write clean, modular code and develop technical documentation for prototypes and deliverables
- Contribute to research publications, patents, and conference presentations where applicable
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Solid foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision concepts
- Proficiency in Python, with experience in libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, or Keras
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software development principles
- Good understanding of neural network architectures like CNNs, RNNs, GANs, and transformers
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS (S3, SageMaker, EC2) is a plus
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience
- Hands-on experience through academic projects, research, or previous internships in the field of computer vision or machine learning
- Published papers or contributions to open-source AI projects will be considered an advantage
- Experience working with large datasets and training deep learning models
Working Hours
- Flexible remote schedule
- Approx. 20–40 hours per week depending on intern availability
- Duration: 3 to 6 months with possibility of extension or full-time conversion
