Job Summary

WSP in India is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented BIM Engineer – Public Health and Plumbing to join our multidisciplinary design and engineering team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering high-quality Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions for public health engineering systems, including plumbing, drainage, water supply, and fire protection services. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and large-scale infrastructure and building projects while collaborating with global teams and industry-leading professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and coordinate BIM models for public health and plumbing systems in accordance with project specifications and international standards.

  • Prepare detailed 3D models, drawings, and schedules for water supply, drainage, sewage, stormwater, and related systems.

  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure integrated and clash-free designs.

  • Conduct clash detection and model coordination using BIM coordination tools and resolve issues efficiently.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client BIM requirements.

  • Support the preparation of design documentation, construction drawings, and as-built models.

  • Maintain BIM standards, templates, and workflows across projects.

  • Assist project teams in BIM implementation, data management, and model quality control.

  • Coordinate with offshore and onshore teams to ensure timely project delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.

  • Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit (MEP), Navisworks, and AutoCAD.

  • Strong understanding of public health engineering and plumbing systems within buildings and infrastructure projects.

  • Knowledge of BIM standards, workflows, and Level of Development (LOD) requirements.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Experience

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in BIM modeling for public health and plumbing systems.

  • Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, healthcare, or infrastructure projects is preferred.

  • Exposure to international projects and multidisciplinary coordination will be an advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position

  • Standard business hours, Monday to Friday

  • Flexibility to coordinate with global teams across different time zones when required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of water supply, drainage, sewage, and fire protection systems.

  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., BS, ASHRAE, IPC, local authority guidelines).

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.

  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required.
