Job Summary

Mediclinic is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Technician to join our hospital maintenance team. This role is essential in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of medical and hospital equipment. The Clinical Technician will perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair of various clinical devices and machinery to support patient care and hospital operations. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to healthcare excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspection, testing, and calibration of hospital equipment to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medical devices including diagnostic, therapeutic, and laboratory equipment.

  • Maintain accurate service records, equipment logs, and maintenance reports.

  • Assist clinical staff in the safe operation of medical equipment and provide technical support as needed.

  • Collaborate with biomedical engineers and vendors for specialized repairs and upgrades.

  • Respond promptly to equipment failures or emergencies, minimizing downtime in patient care areas.

  • Ensure adherence to hospital safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Participate in training sessions for new equipment and emerging technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Technology, Electronics, or related technical field.

  • Strong knowledge of medical equipment maintenance, electronics, and instrumentation.

  • Familiarity with hospital safety standards and regulatory guidelines.

  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in medical equipment maintenance or clinical technical support.

  • Hands-on experience with a variety of hospital equipment including imaging devices, monitoring systems, and laboratory instruments is preferred.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position.

  • May require shift work, including evenings, nights, and weekends, depending on hospital operational needs.

  • On-call availability for urgent maintenance requests may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.

  • Strong understanding of infection control and hospital hygiene practices.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
