Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Deckhand to join our dynamic cruise ship team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the ship’s passenger areas, decks, and general operational readiness. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to ensuring a safe and pleasant experience for passengers. The Deckhand will work closely with the ship’s crew to support maintenance tasks, uphold cleanliness standards, and assist with passenger services as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of passenger decks and surrounding areas.

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on deck equipment, railings, and passenger facilities.

• Assist passengers with guidance, safety instructions, and general inquiries when required.

• Support the crew in mooring, anchoring, and navigation operations as needed.

• Handle cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment responsibly and safely.

• Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures at all times.

• Collaborate with fellow crew members to ensure smooth daily operations on deck.

• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the supervisory staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Basic knowledge of maritime safety procedures and deck operations.

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor for extended periods.

• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.

• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

• Ability to follow instructions accurately and adhere to safety standards.

Experience

• Previous experience in a maritime environment or as a deckhand is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience in maintenance, cleaning, or hospitality services is a plus.

Working Hours

• Full-time, rotational shifts depending on the cruise schedule.

• Includes weekends, holidays, and potential night shifts, consistent with maritime operational requirements.
