Job Summary

InfoTech Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Embedded Systems Engineer – Remote IoT Solutions to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for a passionate technologist who thrives in designing, developing, and optimizing embedded systems for next-generation IoT products. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the full product lifecycle—from concept and architecture to development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software developers, data engineers, and product managers to build scalable, reliable, and secure embedded systems that meet real-world business and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware and software for IoT devices and platforms.

  • Work with microcontrollers and SoCs to implement efficient, real-time, and low-power solutions.

  • Develop device drivers, communication protocols, and hardware abstraction layers.

  • Integrate sensors, actuators, and communication modules (Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee, LoRa, NB-IoT).

  • Optimize system performance, memory usage, and power consumption.

  • Collaborate with hardware teams to bring up new boards and debug system-level issues.

  • Implement secure boot, OTA updates, and encryption for connected devices.

  • Conduct code reviews, testing, and validation to ensure high-quality deliverables.

  • Document system designs, APIs, and development processes.

  • Participate in Agile development cycles and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.

  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or ThreadX.

  • Solid understanding of microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M, ESP32, STM32, PIC, AVR).

  • Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).

  • Knowledge of communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, TCP/IP, MQTT, CoAP).

  • Familiarity with Linux-based embedded systems is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a remote, cross-functional team.

Experience

  • 3–7 years of professional experience in embedded systems or firmware development.

  • Proven experience working on IoT or connected device projects.

  • Experience with product development lifecycle in commercial or industrial environments.

  • Prior experience in remote or distributed teams is an advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time remote position.

  • Flexible working hours with availability for collaboration across global time zones.

  • Standard working week of 40 hours with outcome-focused performance culture.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of embedded system architecture and low-level programming.

  • Ability to interpret hardware schematics and datasheets.

  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles for embedded and IoT systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
