Job Summary:
Blue Horizon Maritime is seeking a motivated and diligent Galley Assistant to join our onboard culinary team. As a Galley Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations. This entry-level position combines food preparation, basic cleaning, and utility tasks to maintain a high standard of hygiene and efficiency in our cruise ship galleys. The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced, maritime environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- 
Assist chefs and cooks in preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning. 
- 
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the galley, including washing utensils, dishes, and kitchen surfaces. 
- 
Handle basic food storage, inventory checks, and proper labeling of ingredients. 
- 
Transport food items safely from storage to the kitchen and dining areas. 
- 
Support the kitchen team during meal service, ensuring timely delivery and replenishment of food items. 
- 
Assist in waste management and recycling practices in line with onboard policies. 
- 
Follow all health, safety, and hygiene protocols to ensure compliance with maritime standards. 
- 
Perform other utility and support tasks as directed by the Chief Steward or Executive Chef. 
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 
Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene practices. 
- 
Ability to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team. 
- 
Physical stamina to handle long hours, lifting, and moving kitchen supplies. 
- 
Good communication skills to coordinate with kitchen and service staff.

Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic. 
Experience:

No formal prior experience is required; freshers are welcome to apply.

Experience in a kitchen or food service environment is an added advantage but not mandatory. 
Working Hours:

Full-time, rotational shifts based on cruise schedules.

Flexible to work extended hours during peak meal services.

Onboard residential position; includes accommodation and meals as part of employment.
