Job Summary

Tata Motors is inviting highly motivated and technically driven engineering graduates to join its Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Program in the domain of Automotive Design & Electric Vehicle (EV) Systems. This program is designed to develop future-ready automotive engineers by providing structured training, real-world project exposure, and mentorship from industry experts. Trainees will contribute to the design, development, and integration of next-generation vehicles, with a strong focus on sustainable mobility and electric powertrain technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of automotive components and systems for ICE, hybrid, and electric vehicles.

  • Support EV system engineering activities including battery systems, electric powertrain, thermal management, and vehicle integration.

  • Work with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, testing, quality, and supply chain to ensure design feasibility and performance.

  • Participate in CAD modeling, simulation, and validation of automotive components and subsystems.

  • Analyze design data, test results, and performance metrics to support engineering decisions.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on innovation, safety, cost, and sustainability.

  • Adhere to Tata Motors’ engineering standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare technical documentation, design reports, and presentations for internal reviews.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related disciplines.

  • Strong foundation in automotive engineering principles, vehicle dynamics, and basic electrical systems.

  • Knowledge of EV architecture, battery technology, motors, inverters, and power electronics is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, or NX.

  • Basic understanding of simulation and analysis tools (ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink preferred).

  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Experience

  • Fresh graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of relevant experience in automotive design, EV systems, or related engineering roles.

  • Internship or academic project experience in automotive or electric vehicle domains will be an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position

  • Standard business hours, Monday to Friday

  • Flexibility may be required based on project timelines, testing schedules, or production requirements.
