Job Summary
Jindal Steel is seeking a highly motivated Graduate Maintenance Engineer to join our Heavy Machinery division. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of heavy machinery equipment within our steel manufacturing facilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity for recent engineering graduates to develop hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, and large-scale manufacturing operations. You will work closely with senior engineers, operations teams, and maintenance staff to implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies that enhance operational efficiency and equipment longevity.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance of heavy machinery including crushers, conveyors, rollers, and furnaces.

Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and optimize equipment performance.

Collaborate with operations and production teams to diagnose equipment failures and implement timely solutions.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and machine performance metrics.

Assist in the planning and execution of machinery upgrades, modifications, and installations.

Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards in all maintenance activities.

Support cost optimization initiatives by analyzing equipment performance and recommending improvements.

Participate in continuous improvement programs and contribute to process optimization initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery operations.

Proficiency in diagnostic tools, maintenance management software, and MS Office applications.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.

Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to industrial operations.
Experience

Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, industrial equipment servicing, or manufacturing operations are encouraged to apply.

Internships or project experience in heavy machinery maintenance will be an added advantage.
Working Hours

Standard working hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Flexibility may be required for emergency maintenance or machinery breakdown situations.
