Job Summary

SoFi is seeking a meticulous and motivated Home Equity Mortgage Processor to join our dynamic remote team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring seamless processing of home equity mortgage applications, from initial documentation through closing. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.

As a Home Equity Mortgage Processor, you will be the backbone of our loan operations team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution to provide our clients with an exceptional lending experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process home equity mortgage applications from submission to closing.

• Collect, organize, and analyze all required documentation, including credit reports, income verification, appraisals, and title reports.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company regulations throughout the loan processing cycle.

• Coordinate with underwriters, loan officers, title companies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.

• Communicate effectively with borrowers to gather necessary documents and clarify application details.

• Track loan status, update internal systems, and generate reports for management.

• Identify potential issues or discrepancies and resolve them proactively to avoid delays.

• Continuously improve processes and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative remote team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of home equity loan processing procedures and mortgage regulations.

• Proficiency in mortgage software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines.

Experience

• Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in mortgage processing, underwriting support, or related loan operations.

• Experience with home equity loans and familiarity with federal and state lending regulations is preferred.

• Prior experience in a remote work environment is advantageous.

Working Hours

• Full-time, remote position.
