Job Summary

IT Sight Technologies is seeking a highly detail-oriented and independent SMSF Auditor to join our growing remote finance and compliance team. This role is ideal for a qualified professional with strong expertise in Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) audits who can ensure full compliance with Australian regulatory standards and auditing frameworks.

As an Independent SMSF Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting end-to-end audits of SMSFs, reviewing financial statements, assessing compliance with SIS legislation, and delivering high-quality audit reports. You will work remotely while collaborating with accountants, financial advisors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct independent audits of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards.
• Review financial statements, investment portfolios, trust deeds, and member balances.
• Assess compliance with SIS Act, SIS Regulations, and ATO guidelines.
• Identify and report compliance breaches and audit risks.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and timely audit reports and management letters.
• Communicate audit findings with clients, accountants, and stakeholders.
• Maintain professional independence and confidentiality at all times.
• Stay updated with regulatory changes affecting SMSFs and audit practices.
• Ensure high standards of documentation and record-keeping.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Qualified SMSF Auditor with ASIC registration.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of Australian superannuation and taxation laws.
• Proficiency in audit software and accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in SMSF auditing or superannuation compliance.
• Proven experience in conducting independent audits for multiple SMSF clients.
• Experience working with accounting firms or financial services organizations is preferred.
• Exposure to cloud-based accounting platforms such as BGL, Class, or SuperMate is an advantage.

Working Hours

• Fully remote position.
