Job Summary
Comcast is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our Data Center operations team. This role requires an experienced professional who can manage, maintain, and optimize our on-premise IT infrastructure to ensure continuous and efficient service delivery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting infrastructure solutions that align with Comcast’s business goals and technology standards. This is an onsite role at our state-of-the-art Data Center, offering an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage IT infrastructure systems including servers, storage, virtualization, and networking.

Monitor data center performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of systems.

Maintain hardware and software inventory and perform system upgrades and patches as needed.

Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise-level applications and infrastructure projects.

Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.

Manage and secure data center physical and network environments in compliance with security policies.

Automate routine tasks and processes to improve operational efficiency.

Support the configuration and maintenance of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).

Provide technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and training for junior engineers.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, data center operations, or systems engineering.

Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.

Expertise in virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.

Hands-on experience with networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, routing, switching).

Solid understanding of storage systems (SAN/NAS) and data replication.

Proficiency in backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Familiarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar).

Strong scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, Python, or Bash preferred).

Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, VCP, CompTIA Server+) are a plus.
Experience

5+ years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering or system administration.

Previous experience in data center management or operations is highly preferred.

Proven track record of managing complex infrastructure environments and resolving critical issues efficiently.
Working Hours

Full-time, onsite position.

Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Flexibility required for on-call rotation, weekends, and after-hours maintenance as per business needs.
