Job Summary

Samsung R&D is seeking a highly motivated Junior Embedded Systems Developer to join our IoT and Sensors division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and testing of innovative embedded solutions for next-generation smart devices. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to implement efficient, reliable, and scalable software for embedded platforms. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain embedded software for IoT devices and sensor platforms.

  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of software with sensors and microcontrollers.

  • Participate in firmware design, optimization, and debugging for embedded systems.

  • Assist in the development of communication protocols and device drivers for IoT ecosystems.

  • Contribute to technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and user manuals.

  • Support the prototyping and evaluation of new IoT products and features.

  • Identify and troubleshoot software, hardware, and system-level issues.

  • Stay updated with emerging IoT trends, sensor technologies, and embedded development practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.

  • Strong foundation in embedded C/C++ programming.

  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, sensors, and IoT communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, BLE, Zigbee).

  • Understanding of RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems) and firmware development.

  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

  • Basic knowledge of circuit design, PCB interfacing, and sensor calibration is a plus.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in embedded systems development, preferably in IoT, sensors, or electronics.

  • Internship or project experience involving microcontrollers, embedded programming, or IoT devices is highly valued.

Working Hours

  • Full-time role, typically 40–45 hours per week.

  • Flexibility may be required depending on project deadlines and cross-team collaborations.
