Mechanical Engineering Internship for Automotive Design
Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Automotive Design team. This internship offers hands-on experience in designing, prototyping, and testing automotive components and systems. The role is perfect for students or recent graduates passionate about automotive engineering, CAD modeling, and innovation in mobility solutions.

Reports to

The intern will report to the Lead Design Engineer / Automotive Project Manager.

What will you do?

  • Assist in the design and development of automotive components and assemblies.

  • Create and modify CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Support prototype development and participate in testing activities.

  • Conduct engineering calculations and tolerance analysis under supervision.

  • Research new materials, manufacturing processes, and design trends.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality.

  • Prepare presentations, reports, and documentation for design reviews.

What are we looking for?

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Strong foundation in engineering mechanics, materials, and machine design.

  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar).

  • Good problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.

  • Attention to detail with a passion for automotive design.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

What additional skills will help you stand out?

  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

  • Experience with FEA/CAE tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar).

  • Exposure to 3D printing or rapid prototyping techniques.

  • Understanding of automotive systems (chassis, powertrain, interiors, etc.).

  • Previous internship, academic project, or competition experience (e.g., Formula Student, BAJA SAE).

Work mode
