Job Summary

MediScript Health Services is seeking a highly detail-oriented, reliable, and skilled Medical Transcriptionist to join our remote transcription team. In this role, you will listen to and accurately transcribe a variety of medical reports dictated by physicians and healthcare practitioners, ensuring precision, confidentiality, and compliance with healthcare documentation standards. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who possess strong medical terminology knowledge, exceptional listening skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe medical dictations into accurate, well-structured medical reports.

• Edit and proofread transcriptions to ensure clarity, accuracy, and completeness.

• Ensure all documentation aligns with healthcare regulations, confidentiality standards, and organizational formatting guidelines.

• Review dictated notes for missing information and request clarification when necessary.

• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to avoid discrepancies and errors.

• Use transcription software, EMR/EHR systems, and other digital tools to manage workflow.

• Follow established timelines and turn-around requirements for report completion.

• Protect patient confidentiality and handle all information in compliance with HIPAA standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and healthcare documentation standards.

• Excellent listening, typing, and editing skills.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in transcription tools, audio software, and basic computer applications.

• Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of medical information.

• Strong time-management and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in medical transcription or related healthcare documentation roles preferred.

• Experience with EMR/EHR systems and medical transcription platforms is a plus.

• New but well-trained transcriptionists with strong foundational knowledge may also be considered.

Working Hours

• Flexible, remote work schedule.
