Job Summary
Silverton Mortgage is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mortgage Quality Control Auditor to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of mortgage loan files with federal, state, investor, and company guidelines. You will play a critical role in mitigating risk, identifying process gaps, and providing recommendations for continuous improvement. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong understanding of mortgage lending practices who thrive in a collaborative yet independent work environment.
Key Responsibilities

Review mortgage loan files for compliance with federal, state, investor, and company regulations.

Conduct pre-funding and post-closing quality control audits to ensure accuracy and adherence to established policies.

Identify potential risks, errors, and fraud indicators in loan documentation and processes.

Prepare detailed audit reports and communicate findings to internal stakeholders, including management and compliance teams.

Collaborate with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to resolve deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

Stay updated on industry regulations, investor requirements, and compliance standards to ensure ongoing audit accuracy.

Assist in developing and refining quality control policies, procedures, and checklists.

Provide training and support to team members regarding quality and compliance requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong knowledge of mortgage lending processes, including underwriting, processing, and closing.

In-depth understanding of regulatory compliance, including FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other investor guidelines.

Proficiency in analyzing mortgage loan documents for accuracy and compliance.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with precision.

High level of integrity, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.

Proficiency with loan origination systems (LOS) and mortgage quality control software preferred.
Experience

Minimum of 3–5 years of mortgage quality control, underwriting, or auditing experience required.

Experience working with federal and state mortgage regulations and investor requirements is essential.

Previous remote work or independent role experience is a plus.
Working Hours

Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Flexible schedule with core availability during standard business hours (Monday–Friday).

Occasional extended hours may be required during audit deadlines or regulatory reporting periods.
