Job Summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Coordinator to join our hospital and laboratory research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of clinical studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and institutional policies. This role requires a blend of clinical knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate the smooth execution of research projects from initiation through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day clinical trial activities, including participant recruitment, informed consent, scheduling, and data collection.

  • Ensure studies adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Institutional Review Board (IRB) regulations, and Mayo Clinic policies.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of study data, case report forms, and regulatory binders.

  • Collaborate with principal investigators, physicians, and laboratory personnel to support study goals and objectives.

  • Monitor patient safety and report adverse events promptly according to regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare and submit regulatory documents, progress reports, and protocol amendments as required.

  • Maintain study supplies, manage study budgets, and ensure timely communication with sponsors and external partners.

  • Participate in research team meetings, audits, and training sessions to stay updated on new clinical protocols and standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Nursing, Biology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or equivalent credential is a strong advantage.

  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical research regulations, GCP, and ethical standards.

  • Proficiency in data management systems and electronic medical records (EMR).

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to research integrity.

Experience

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in clinical research coordination, preferably in a hospital or laboratory setting.

  • Previous experience working on multi-center clinical trials, patient data collection, or regulatory documentation will be highly valued.

Working Hours

  • Full-time, onsite position at Mayo Clinic.

  • Standard schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

  • Occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work may be required based on study timelines or participant availability.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of clinical trial methodology and research ethics.

  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, REDCap, and statistical or clinical research software tools.

  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially and professionally.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and sponsors.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot operational issues and maintain protocol compliance.
