Job Summary

Heads Up For Tails is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Part-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our dynamic retail team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about pets and retail service, and who enjoy creating memorable in-store experiences for customers. The successful candidate will support daily store operations, assist customers in selecting the right products for their pets, and contribute to achieving sales targets while upholding the brand’s premium service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide personalized assistance based on their pets’ needs.

  • Promote and sell pet products, including food, accessories, grooming items, and toys.

  • Maintain strong product knowledge to confidently recommend suitable solutions.

  • Ensure the store is clean, well-organized, and visually appealing at all times.

  • Support inventory management, including stock replenishment and stock checks.

  • Process billing and handle POS transactions accurately.

  • Build positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat visits.

  • Assist in visual merchandising and in-store promotions.

  • Follow company policies, operational procedures, and customer service standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum qualification: Higher Secondary (12th Pass) or equivalent.

  • Strong communication skills in English and the local language.

  • Customer-centric mindset with a friendly and approachable personality.

  • Basic computer and POS handling skills.

  • Genuine love for pets and understanding of pet care basics.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Good interpersonal and sales skills.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in retail sales, pet stores, or customer service preferred.

  • Freshers with strong communication skills and passion for pets are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience in premium retail or lifestyle brands will be an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Part-time role with flexible shifts.

  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as per store requirements.

  • Typical shift duration: 4–6 hours per day (subject to business needs).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of pet products and pet care practices.

  • Ability to upsell and cross-sell effectively.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Team player with a positive attitude.

  • Ability to handle customer queries and resolve concerns professionally.

  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and handle light stock movement.
