Job Summary

Malathi Silks is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Part-Time Sales Assistant to support our ethnic fashion retail operations. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about traditional apparel, enjoy interacting with customers, and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering an exceptional in-store experience, assisting customers with product selection, and supporting daily showroom activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide personalized assistance throughout their shopping experience.

• Understand customer needs and recommend suitable ethnic wear products, including sarees, lehengas, and other traditional attire.

• Maintain attractive product displays and ensure the showroom is clean, organized, and visually appealing.

• Assist in inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandise tagging.

• Handle billing, basic cash transactions, and POS operations accurately.

• Support promotional activities, festive sales, and special in-store events.

• Address customer queries and concerns professionally, escalating when necessary.

• Collaborate with team members to achieve individual and store sales targets.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; a degree or diploma in retail, fashion, or business is an advantage.

• Strong interest in ethnic fashion and traditional textiles.

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Customer-first attitude with a pleasant and professional demeanor.

• Basic numerical skills and familiarity with billing processes.

• Ability to work in a team-oriented retail environment.

Experience

• Prior retail or showroom sales experience preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience in ethnic wear, textile, or fashion retail will be an added advantage.

• Freshers with strong customer service orientation are encouraged to apply.

Working Hours

• Part-time role with flexible shifts.

• Availability required during weekends, peak seasons, and festive periods.

• Typical shift duration: 4–6 hours per day (as per store requirements).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Good knowledge of fabrics, saree draping basics, and ethnic fashion trends is desirable.

• Ability to build rapport quickly with diverse customers.

• Strong attention to detail in merchandising and presentation.

• Basic computer or POS system familiarity.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and manage busy showroom traffic.
