Job Summary

InfoTech Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Remote Language Interpreter to support NHS healthcare services during evening hours. This role plays a vital part in enabling effective communication between patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring that language barriers do not compromise the quality of care delivered.

As a Remote Language Interpreter, you will provide real-time interpretation services via phone or video, supporting a wide range of clinical and administrative interactions. You will act as a critical bridge between patients and medical staff, maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity at all times. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and professional real-time interpretation between English and the target language for NHS patients and healthcare staff.

  • Support a variety of healthcare scenarios, including GP consultations, hospital admissions, emergency services, mental health support, and community care.

  • Interpret complex medical terminology clearly and appropriately.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to NHS data protection and privacy policies.

  • Remain neutral and impartial while facilitating communication.

  • Manage multiple calls or video sessions efficiently during peak evening hours.

  • Document basic call information and comply with quality and compliance requirements.

  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity in all interactions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and at least one additional language (spoken and written).

  • Excellent listening, comprehension, and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong command of grammar and vocabulary in both languages.

  • Ability to interpret accurately in real time without altering meaning.

  • Good computer literacy and ability to work with remote communication tools.

  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home working environment.

  • Professional, calm, and empathetic communication style.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a language interpreter, translator, or bilingual support agent is preferred.

  • Experience in healthcare, medical interpretation, or NHS-related services is highly desirable.

  • Fresh graduates with strong language proficiency and training in interpretation are also encouraged to apply.

  • Experience working in a remote or call-based environment is an advantage.

Working Hours

  • Evening Shift: Typically between 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (UK Time).

  • Part-time and full-time options may be available.

  • Flexible scheduling based on service demand and availability.
