Job Summary

CreativeWords Studios is seeking a talented and imaginative Remote Story Writer to join our creative team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for writers who excel at crafting compelling narratives, building engaging characters, and producing original stories across various genres. You will collaborate with our editorial team to develop high-quality written content that aligns with the studio’s vision and creative direction. This is a fully remote contract position, ideal for individuals who thrive independently while delivering exceptional storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop original stories, scripts, and narrative concepts for digital, print, and multimedia projects.

• Collaborate with editors and creative leads to refine storylines, character arcs, and dialogue.

• Conduct research to ensure accuracy, consistency, and authenticity within story settings and themes.

• Revise and edit content based on editorial feedback while maintaining creative integrity.

• Deliver high-quality written work within established deadlines and project guidelines.

• Adapt writing style and tone to fit various genres, audiences, and project goals.

• Participate in occasional virtual meetings to discuss creative direction and project updates.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven ability to write captivating stories with strong narrative structure.

• Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, flow, and clarity.

• Strong creativity, imagination, and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple writing tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

• Familiarity with storytelling techniques, plot development, and character building.

• Proficiency in Google Docs, MS Word, or similar writing tools.

Experience

• Minimum 1–3 years of professional writing experience (story writing, fiction, scriptwriting, or creative content development).

• Experience writing for digital platforms, storytelling apps, publications, or entertainment studios is a plus.

• A portfolio of previous creative writing work is required.

Working Hours

• Flexible, remote schedule.

• Writers must meet project deadlines and be available for periodic virtual check-ins.

• Approximately 10–20 hours per week, depending on project flow and contract scope.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong understanding of narrative pacing, emotional impact, and thematic development.

• Ability to brainstorm original ideas and bring unique perspectives to creative projects.

• Skilled in world-building, dialogue creation, and scene writing.

• Comfortable receiving feedback and revising work accordingly.

• Ability to adapt writing style to different moods, tones, and genres.
