Job Summary

CaptionCloud Media is seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and highly accurate Video Caption & Transcription Associate to join our remote content operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for converting video and audio content into high-quality captions and transcripts that meet strict accuracy, timing, and formatting standards. You will work closely with our editing and production teams to ensure all deliverables adhere to accessibility guidelines and support clients across media, entertainment, education, and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe video and audio files with exceptional accuracy, clarity, and completeness.

• Create, edit, and synchronize captions and subtitles for various content types.

• Ensure captions follow style guides, grammar standards, and accessibility compliance (including ADA and WCAG guidelines).

• Review and proofread automated transcriptions to correct errors in spelling, punctuation, formatting, and timing.

• Maintain consistent turnaround times while handling multiple projects simultaneously.

• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to refine captioning workflows and improve overall output.

• Manage file organization and project documentation according to internal processes.

• Uphold confidentiality and data security standards at all times.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong command of written English with excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

• Proficiency in transcription and captioning tools (e.g., Rev, Otter, Descript, Amara, or similar platforms).

• Comfortable working with various audio/video formats and file types.

• Ability to meet deadlines with high levels of accuracy and consistency.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to catch even minor linguistic or timing errors.

• Good listening skills and ability to interpret accents, background noise, and fast speech.

• Basic understanding of caption formats such as SRT, VTT, STL, etc.

• Adequate typing speed (minimum 60–70 WPM recommended).

Experience

• 1–2 years of experience in captioning, transcription, or similar roles preferred.

• Experience in media, content production, or accessibility services is an advantage.

• Freshers with strong language skills and willingness to learn are welcome to apply.

Working Hours

• Flexible remote schedule with the option to choose assignments based on availability.

• Peak demand periods may require weekend or evening work.
