Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician is seeking a highly detail-oriented Virtual Pharmacy Technician – Claims Specialist to join our remote operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling prescription claims processing, prior authorizations, and insurance verifications with accuracy and efficiency. You will work closely with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure timely and compliant claims management. Key Responsibilities

Process and verify prescription claims through pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and insurance providers.

Handle claim rejections, prior authorization requests, and appeals efficiently.

Communicate with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurers to resolve claim-related issues.

Review patient medication histories and maintain accurate pharmacy records.

Ensure all transactions comply with state and federal regulations, HIPAA, and company policies.

Support pharmacists by preparing claims documentation and coordinating with other departments.

Identify opportunities to streamline claims processes for higher accuracy and productivity.

Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent state licensure preferred.

Strong understanding of pharmacy billing, insurance claims, and prior authorization workflows.

Proficient in pharmacy management systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced remote environment.

Experience

Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a claims, billing, or insurance verification role.

Experience with PBM systems and knowledge of insurance plan structures is highly desirable.
Working Hours

Full-time remote position.

Flexible scheduling options available (Day, Evening, or Split Shifts).

Candidates must be able to commit to at least 40 hours per week with occasional overtime during peak claim cycles.
