Job Summary

As a Weekend Sales Assistant at Malathi Silks, you will be the face of our store during peak weekend hours. This role involves assisting customers in selecting the perfect ethnic attire, delivering an exceptional shopping experience, and supporting the sales team to achieve daily targets. Your enthusiasm for fashion, attention to detail, and ability to build relationships with customers will help enhance the brand reputation of Malathi Silks.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers, offering personalized assistance with product selection.

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of ethnic fashion trends, fabrics, and designs to guide customers effectively.

• Ensure merchandise is neatly displayed, organized, and replenished on the sales floor.

• Handle billing, returns, and exchanges efficiently while adhering to company policies.

• Assist in achieving sales targets and participate in promotions and campaigns.

• Maintain a clean, inviting, and safe store environment.

• Report customer feedback and market trends to management for strategic insights.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; diploma in fashion merchandising is a plus.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused demeanor.

• Basic knowledge of POS systems and retail operations.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Experience

• Prior experience in retail sales, especially in ethnic fashion or apparel, is preferred but not mandatory.

• Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets is advantageous.

Working Hours

• Weekend shifts only (Saturday and Sunday).

• Flexible timing, typically between 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM.

• Occasional extended hours during festive or promotional periods.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent product knowledge in ethnic wear including sarees, lehengas, and salwar suits.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to visual merchandising.

• Ability to build rapport with diverse customers and provide personalized fashion advice.

• Team player with the ability to collaborate with sales colleagues and management.

• Basic numeracy and cash handling skills.
