Job Summary
TranscribePro USA is seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Coder (CPC) with expertise in ICD-10 coding to join our remote healthcare operations team. The ideal candidate will accurately assign medical codes to clinical documentation to ensure proper billing and compliance with federal regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze patient medical records, charts, and clinical documentation.
- Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, payer guidelines, and internal policies.
- Identify and resolve documentation discrepancies in collaboration with healthcare providers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, payer rules, and regulatory changes.
- Perform audits of coded data to ensure accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
- Submit coded data into electronic health record (EHR) or billing systems efficiently.
- Provide coding support for various specialties, as required, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to maintain CPC certification.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential from AAPC or equivalent.
- Strong proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using EHR, EMR, and medical billing software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a medical coder in an outpatient or inpatient setting.
- Prior experience in remote or work-from-home coding is a plus.
- Experience with multiple specialties is highly desirable.
