Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking an experienced Enterprise Applications and Backend API Development Specialist to join our remote technology team. This role focuses on architecting, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems, APIs, and enterprise-grade software solutions that drive our global business operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in backend development frameworks, API integration, and enterprise software architecture, along with a passion for performance optimization and secure, maintainable code.

As a fully remote position, you will collaborate with a distributed team of engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to design robust backend systems that power critical business applications and integrations across cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications and RESTful APIs using modern backend technologies (Node.js, Python, Java, or .NET).

• Architect and optimize backend systems to handle large-scale data processing and complex business logic.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate third-party APIs and services into core enterprise applications.

• Develop and maintain database schemas (SQL/NoSQL) to ensure high data integrity and performance.

• Ensure backend applications meet performance, reliability, and security standards.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.

• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and support production deployments.

• Automate build, deployment, and testing processes using CI/CD pipelines.

• Work closely with DevOps engineers to ensure seamless cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

• Continuously improve system design, scalability, and overall application performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

• Proven experience in backend API development, enterprise application design, and cloud integration.

• Strong command of one or more backend frameworks such as Express.js, Django, Spring Boot, or .NET Core.

• Proficiency with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis).

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API lifecycle management.

• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, API Gateway, etc.).

• Solid understanding of authentication/authorization standards such as OAuth 2.0 and JWT.

• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.

• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Experience

• Minimum 4–7 years of professional experience in backend development or enterprise application engineering.

• Prior experience in designing and deploying large-scale distributed systems or cloud-native solutions is highly preferred.

• Experience in API security, integration, and data exchange between enterprise systems is a strong plus.

Working Hours

• Flexible remote work schedule.

• Core collaboration hours: 9 AM – 6 PM (IST) or as per project timezone requirements.

• Occasional evening meetings for cross-time-zone collaboration.
