About the Role
As a Desktop Publishing Specialist at PhysicsWallah, you will be responsible for creating and formatting high-quality visual content that supports our mission to make education affordable and accessible to every Indian student. You will work closely with our content creation and marketing teams to design educational materials, study guides, presentation slides, and digital publications that engage our students. Your creative expertise will directly impact how millions of learners consume educational content across our platform.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and develop desktop publishing layouts for educational materials, study guides, worksheets, and test papers that meet quality standards and brand guidelines.
2. Prepare and format digital and print-ready documents, ensuring proper typography, color management, and visual hierarchy for maximum clarity and impact.
3. Collaborate with content writers, subject matter experts, and marketing teams to understand requirements and translate concepts into visually appealing designs.
4. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining consistent quality, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines in a fast-paced educational technology environment.
5. Stay updated with latest design trends, software tools, and publishing technologies to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of our content production process.
What We're Looking For
1. Proven experience of 2-4 years working as a Desktop Publishing Specialist or in a similar design and publishing role with a strong portfolio of work.
2. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and expertise in handling complex document layouts.
3. Strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment while meeting tight deadlines.
4. Knowledge of print production processes, file formats, prepress requirements, and experience in creating both digital and print-ready materials is highly preferred.
