Job Summary
ICAR-IARI is seeking a highly motivated, research-oriented, and academically driven professional for the position of Part-Time Junior Research Fellow (Seed Science). The selected candidate will work closely with senior scientists, research associates, and technical teams on seed science research projects aimed at improving seed quality, germination performance, storage efficiency, and agricultural productivity. Key Responsibilities

Assist in designing, planning, and executing research experiments related to seed science and technology.

Conduct seed quality analysis, germination tests, viability assessments, and physiological studies.

Collect, record, organize, and analyze research data using scientific methods.

Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and research materials.

Prepare research reports, technical documentation, and progress updates.

Support field trials, seed sampling, and experimental plot monitoring.

Participate in data interpretation and presentation of research findings.

Assist senior scientists in project implementation and research publications.

Ensure compliance with institutional research standards and laboratory safety protocols.

Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams on agricultural and seed research projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Masterโs degree in Seed Science & Technology, Agriculture, Plant Sciences, Genetics, Botany, Agronomy, Biotechnology, or related disciplines from a recognized institution.

Candidates with qualifications as per ICAR/UGC/CSIR guidelines will be preferred.

Strong understanding of seed physiology, seed testing procedures, and crop production systems.

Knowledge of laboratory procedures and research methodologies.

Proficiency in MS Office, data recording, and scientific documentation.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in research environments.
Experience

Fresh postgraduates with strong academic records may apply.

Prior experience in agricultural research, laboratory experimentation, seed testing, or field-based research will be an added advantage.

Working Hours
