Carbon Blue Global is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Part-Time MEP Mechanical Designer & Trainer to join our growing engineering and professional development team. This role is ideal for experienced mechanical engineering professionals who are passionate about both technical design excellence and knowledge sharing.
The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions for building services projects while simultaneously training engineering students, fresh graduates, and industry professionals in MEP mechanical design standards, software tools, and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design Responsibilities
Prepare detailed mechanical HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and ventilation designs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Develop design calculations including cooling load calculations, static pressure calculations, pipe sizing, duct sizing, and equipment selection.
Create mechanical shop drawings, design drawings, and coordinated BIM models.
Ensure compliance with international and regional standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, and project-specific specifications.
Coordinate with architectural, structural, and electrical teams for integrated project delivery.
Review project requirements, specifications, tender documents, and client comments.
Participate in design review meetings and technical coordination sessions.
Support project execution teams with technical clarifications and design improvements.
Training Responsibilities
Deliver structured training sessions on MEP mechanical design concepts.
Train participants on software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and HVAC design software.
Develop training materials, assignments, case studies, and practical exercises.
Conduct project-based learning sessions using live engineering examples.
Assess trainee progress through tests, assignments, and project evaluations.
Mentor junior engineers and help them build industry-ready skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelorโs degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, firefighting systems, and ventilation design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and other relevant design software.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
Ability to simplify complex engineering concepts for learners.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Experience
Minimum 3โ8 years of experience in MEP mechanical design and project execution.
Prior teaching, mentoring, or corporate training experience will be highly preferred.
Experience working on international construction projects is an added advantage.
Working Hours
Part-Time Position
Flexible work schedule based on project and training requirements.
Expected commitment: 15โ25 hours per week
Evening or weekend training sessions may be required depending on batch schedules.
