Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Professional Nurse to join the Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Mediclinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering advanced, high-quality critical care to adult patients with life-threatening conditions. This role requires strong clinical expertise, quick decision-making abilities, and a patient-centered approach in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, vital signs, and treatment responses

Operate and manage advanced ICU medical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps

Administer prescribed medications and intravenous therapies accurately and safely

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, specialists, and allied health professionals

Respond promptly to medical emergencies and life-threatening situations

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with hospital policies

Ensure strict adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols

Support families by providing clear communication and emotional support

Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous learning
Required Skills and Qualifications

Registered Nurse qualification (Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing)

Valid nursing registration with the relevant Nursing Council

Specialized ICU/critical care certification (preferred or required depending on hospital policy)

Strong knowledge of adult critical care nursing practices

Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills

Ability to operate ICU equipment confidently

Experience

Minimum 2–5 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting

At least 1–2 years of direct experience in an Adult ICU or critical care unit preferred

Experience in handling ventilated and high-dependency patients is an advantage
Working Hours

Rotational shifts including day, night, weekends, and public holidays

12-hour shift system depending on hospital roster requirements

Overtime may be required based on patient load and emergency situations
