Job Summary

InfoTech Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Grant Researcher – Climate Action Non-Profit to support strategic fundraising initiatives for environmental and sustainability-focused programs. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about climate action, renewable energy, environmental justice, and nonprofit development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities, analyzing funding trends, researching philanthropic organizations, and supporting proposal development efforts that align with the organization’s climate mission. This role requires strong analytical thinking, exceptional research capabilities, and a deep understanding of nonprofit funding ecosystems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify local, national, and international grant opportunities related to climate action, sustainability, environmental conservation, and clean energy initiatives.
  • Monitor government grants, foundation funding, corporate social responsibility programs, and philanthropic funding sources.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive grant database, including deadlines, eligibility requirements, and submission guidelines.
  • Conduct prospect research on foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individual donors.
  • Analyze funding trends and generate strategic reports for leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with program managers, fundraising teams, and leadership to align grant opportunities with organizational priorities.
  • Support the development of letters of inquiry, concept notes, grant applications, and supporting documentation.
  • Track grant submission schedules and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare executive summaries and research briefs on potential funding partners.
  • Stay informed about emerging climate policies, environmental funding priorities, and philanthropic trends.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Communications, Business Administration, Research, or related field.
  • Strong experience in grant research, fundraising research, nonprofit development, or institutional giving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced internet research and data analysis capabilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, grant databases, spreadsheets, and online collaboration tools.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into actionable insights.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Experience

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in grant research, nonprofit fundraising, institutional development, or related research roles.
  • Experience working with environmental organizations, climate initiatives, sustainability projects, or nonprofit institutions is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of identifying successful funding opportunities is highly desirable.

Working Hours

  • Full-Time: 40 hours per week
  • Flexible remote schedule with occasional overlap required for team collaboration.
  • Monday to Friday
  • Some deadline-driven work may require schedule flexibility.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of nonprofit funding landscapes.
  • Knowledge of environmental policy, climate finance, sustainability frameworks, and philanthropic giving trends.
  • Ability to evaluate funder priorities and align them with organizational missions.
  • Strong analytical thinking and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple grant cycles simultaneously.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with donor and organizational information.
