Job Summary

Fresher Jobs Hub is seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Remote Medical Coder to join our growing healthcare support team. This role is responsible for accurately translating healthcare services, diagnoses, and procedures into standardized medical codes used for billing, insurance claims, and record-keeping. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and compliance regulations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all coding activities while working in a fully remote environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review patient medical records, clinical statements, and documentation to assign appropriate medical codes.
  • Utilize standardized coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS for accurate classification.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and coding guidelines.
  • Verify and validate coding accuracy to support billing and reimbursement processes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and billing teams to clarify discrepancies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Stay updated with changes in medical coding regulations and industry practices.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure coding quality and accuracy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Coder (CPC, CCS, or equivalent certification required).
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Experience

  • Minimum of 0โ€“2 years of experience in medical coding (freshers with certification are encouraged to apply).
  • Internship or training experience in healthcare coding is an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Flexible remote working schedule.
  • Standard shift: 8 hours per day, 5 days a week.
  • May require occasional overlap with international time zones depending on client requirements.
