Job Summary
Absa Group is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Short Term Insurance Home Owners Contents Consultant (FAIS) to join its insurance advisory team. This role is responsible for delivering professional insurance solutions to clients by providing expert advice on homeowners and household contents insurance products.
The successful candidate will engage with customers, assess insurance requirements, identify risks, and recommend suitable cover solutions while ensuring full compliance with FAIS regulations and internal governance standards. This position requires strong relationship-building skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences. Key Responsibilities

Provide professional insurance advice to clients regarding home owners and household contents cover.

Conduct customer needs analysis to identify risk exposure and recommend suitable insurance products.

Explain policy benefits, exclusions, terms, and conditions clearly to clients.

Process quotations, policy applications, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations accurately.

Ensure all client interactions comply with FAIS, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through proactive engagement.

Resolve policy-related customer queries efficiently and professionally.

Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within the insurance portfolio.

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and policy documentation.

Work closely with underwriting, claims, and service teams to deliver seamless customer support.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification.

Relevant insurance qualification or financial services certification preferred.

FAIS-compliant accreditation and RE5 certification (where applicable).

Strong understanding of short-term insurance products.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to explain complex insurance information in a clear and professional manner.

Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Experience

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in short-term insurance or financial services.

Previous experience in home insurance advisory or customer consulting roles preferred.

Proven track record in sales, retention, or customer service within the insurance industry.

Experience working in regulated financial environments is advantageous.
Working Hours

Full-time permanent role.

Monday to Friday, standard business hours.

Occasional weekend or extended hours may be required based on customer or operational needs.
