Job Description

Job Summary

OneTech Associates is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and resilient Youth Support Worker to join our residential care team for teenagers. In this role, you will provide a safe, supportive, and structured environment for young people facing emotional, behavioral, and social challenges. You will play a vital role in guiding and empowering teens to develop life skills, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes. This position requires a strong commitment to safeguarding, empathy, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with young individuals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and emotional support to teenagers in a residential setting.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that promotes well-being and personal growth.
  • Support residents in developing life skills such as communication, decision-making, and independence.
  • Implement individualized care plans and behavior management strategies.
  • Monitor and document residents’ progress, behaviors, and any incidents accurately.
  • Collaborate with social workers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure holistic care.
  • Facilitate recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.
  • Maintain compliance with safeguarding policies, health & safety regulations, and organizational standards.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor to young people.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred).
  • Certification in youth work, childcare, or residential care (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors calmly and effectively.
  • Empathy, patience, and emotional resilience.
  • Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children or teenagers in a residential, educational, or support setting is highly desirable.
  • Experience in handling behavioral or emotional challenges is an advantage.
  • Fresh candidates with relevant training and a passion for youth development are encouraged to apply.

Working Hours

  • Flexible shift-based schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Full-time and part-time positions available.
  • Overnight shifts may be required depending on the care schedule.

  • Understanding of adolescent development and trauma-informed care practices.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Strong observational and reporting skills.
