Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe and format audio or video content into captions or subtitles with high accuracy.
• Ensure the proper synchronization of text with spoken audio.
• Review and edit transcriptions to meet client standards for grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
• Research terminologies and maintain consistency in language, tone, and style.
• Work on a variety of projects, including corporate videos, films, online courses, and more.
• Adhere to project deadlines and communicate progress with the project manager.
• Manage time efficiently to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong typing speed of at least 50 words per minute with minimal errors.
• Exceptional proficiency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Familiarity with captioning and subtitling tools such as Aegisub, Rev, or similar software.
• Outstanding attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and closed captioning guidelines is preferred.

Experience

• Prior experience in transcription, captioning, subtitling, or related fields is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with various file formats, including SRT, VTT, and TXT, is an advantage.
• Experience working on freelance projects or in remote roles is a plus.
