Job Summary
Metro Jobs Delhi is inviting applications for the position of Fireman for Delhi Metro. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about public safety and emergency response. As a Fireman, you will be responsible for handling fire safety equipment, responding to fire alarms, conducting rescue operations, and ensuring passenger safety across Delhi Metro stations and depots. This is a critical safety role that requires quick decision-making, physical fitness, and a commitment to saving lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergency calls within the Delhi Metro premises.
- Operate firefighting equipment and tools, including extinguishers, hoses, and hydrants.
- Perform fire drills and ensure fire preparedness at stations and depots.
- Conduct routine inspections of fire safety systems and equipment.
- Assist in evacuating passengers safely during fire emergencies or other hazards.
- Support maintenance teams in implementing fire safety compliance and preventive measures.
- Provide first-aid assistance during accidents or emergencies until medical teams arrive.
- Maintain accurate records of fire safety incidents and submit regular reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 10th Pass from a recognized board.
- Firefighting training certification from a recognized institute is mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of operating fire extinguishing systems and rescue tools.
- Physically fit with the ability to handle high-stress situations.
- Strong sense of responsibility and quick decision-making skills.
Experience
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in firefighting, emergency response, or safety operations preferred.
- Freshers with firefighting certification are encouraged to apply.
Working Hours
- Full-time role with rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Emergency duty may require flexible availability during fire incidents or drills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Ability to work in a team and coordinate with metro operations staff.
- Excellent physical stamina and alertness.
- Basic communication skills in Hindi or English for coordination during emergencies.
