Job Summary


SecureMalls Inc., a trusted leader in commercial property security, is seeking a vigilant and highly skilled Armed Security Officer to safeguard our commercial facility. This role is critical in maintaining a safe environment for employees, visitors, and property by preventing unauthorized access, monitoring activities, and responding swiftly to security threats. The ideal candidate will possess strong situational awareness, excellent judgment under pressure, and a commitment to protecting people and assets at all times.



Key Responsibilities



  • Maintain a visible and professional armed security presence throughout the commercial premises.

  • Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and access points to detect and prevent security breaches.

  • Conduct regular patrols inside and around the facility to deter unauthorized activities.

  • Respond quickly to emergencies, including theft, vandalism, disturbances, and fire or medical incidents.

  • Control access to restricted areas and verify credentials of employees, contractors, and visitors.

  • Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate security logs.

  • Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and management as needed.

  • Enforce company security policies and procedures with professionalism and fairness.

  • Assist in evacuation or lockdown procedures during emergencies.



Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Valid armed security license or equivalent certification (as per local/state regulations).

  • Proven ability to handle firearms safely and responsibly.

  • Strong understanding of security operations, surveillance, and risk prevention methods.

  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.

  • High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.

  • Basic computer literacy for reporting and logging incidents.



Experience



  • Minimum 2 years of experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military service preferred.

  • Prior experience working in commercial, retail, or corporate security environments is advantageous.



Working Hours



  • Full-time position with rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours during emergencies or special assignments.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Knowledge of public safety, security protocols, and emergency response.

  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.

  • Observational skills to detect suspicious activity quickly.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle interactions with diverse individuals.
