Job Description
We are seeking a licensed and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our remote Prior Authorization team. This is a work-from-home opportunity ideal for experienced pharmacy technicians who want to utilize their skills in a non-dispensing role.
As a Remote Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician, you will review medication requests, verify insurance details, and ensure compliance with pharmacy benefit guidelines. Key Responsibilities
- Process prior authorization requests and determine medication coverage eligibility.
- Review prescriptions and insurance guidelines to ensure compliance.
- Communicate with healthcare providers, pharmacists, and insurance companies to gather required information.
- Accurately document approvals, denials, and appeals in company systems.
- Assist customers and providers with status updates and coverage inquiries.
- Ensure all HIPAA and regulatory compliance standards are met.
- Work collaboratively with a team of pharmacists and technicians.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or state-certified).
- Experience with prior authorizations, insurance claims, or pharmacy benefits preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, prescription drugs, and healthcare regulations.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy management software.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
- Reliable internet connection and home office setup.
Experience
- 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician (retail, hospital, or PBM setting).
- Prior authorization experience is highly preferred.
Working Hours
- Flexible remote schedule with full-time and part-time options.
- Typical hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM (varies by employer).
- Potential weekend or evening shifts based on business needs.
