Job Summary
Are you passionate about movies, TV series, and storytelling from around the world? Netflix is seeking detail-oriented and entertainment-savvy individuals to join our global Content Categorization team. This remote role plays a key part in enriching the Netflix member experience by tagging, rating, and categorizing titles across various genres and themes. As a Content Categorizer, you will help ensure content is easily discoverable and accurately presented to millions of viewers across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and categorize Netflix content (films, series, documentaries, etc.) based on genre, tone, themes, and other metadata.
- Apply tags and ratings consistently according to Netflix’s internal style guide and tagging framework.
- Identify and flag inconsistencies, missing metadata, or content classification errors.
- Work closely with content quality teams to uphold tagging standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of unreleased or restricted titles.
- Meet daily productivity and accuracy goals while working independently.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent command of English (written and reading comprehension).
- Strong understanding of media genres, storytelling techniques, and pop culture.
- Attention to detail with a passion for accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to follow complex classification systems and editorial guidelines.
- Comfortable using digital platforms, spreadsheets, and online databases.
Experience
- No prior experience required — freshers welcome.
- Previous work in media, entertainment, digital content, data entry, or editorial work is a plus.
Working Hours
- Flexible scheduling: Choose your own hours.
- Minimum commitment: 15-20 hours per week.
- Full-time opportunities also available based on performance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with streaming content and international entertainment trends.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
