Job Summary:
Dollar Tree is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Operations Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. As an Operations Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring efficient processes, maintaining high standards of customer service, and driving team performance. You will work closely with the Store Manager to implement operational plans, improve store efficiency, and ensure an outstanding shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient store environment.
- Supervise and lead store associates, providing direction and support for their daily tasks.
- Ensure inventory management and stock organization are maintained to company standards.
- Monitor and enforce all company policies and procedures related to safety, security, and customer service.
- Assist in managing store merchandising, product placement, and signage to ensure it aligns with Dollar Tree's standards.
- Support with recruitment, training, and development of new and current staff members.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Analyze store performance and contribute to the development of strategies to improve sales and profitability.
- Assist with budgeting and financial tracking to maintain store profitability.
- Prepare and manage staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage for store operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment for customers and staff.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a retail environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, store management systems).
- Ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Experience:
- Previous experience in retail operations, customer service, or management is highly preferred.
- Experience in inventory control, merchandising, and operational procedures is an asset.
- Prior experience in training and developing a team is beneficial.
- Familiarity with financial and budgetary reporting is a plus.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position with flexible hours.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the store's operational needs.
