Job Summary:


Airlink South Africa is seeking dedicated and physically fit individuals to join our Ground Operations team as Ramp & Baggage Handlers. In this vital role, you will support the efficient and safe turnaround of aircraft by loading and unloading baggage, cargo, and ensuring ramp safety standards are met.


This is an entry-level opportunity with full training provided — ideal for individuals looking to begin or grow a career in aviation ground services.




Key Responsibilities:



  • Load and unload passenger baggage and cargo from aircraft

  • Operate ground service equipment (tugs, belt loaders, dollies)

  • Marshal aircraft on the ramp during arrival and departure

  • Safely transfer baggage between aircraft, terminals, and baggage belts

  • Maintain ramp safety and cleanliness at all times

  • Follow strict timelines to support on-time flight operations

  • Report damaged baggage and lost property issues promptly

  • Work collaboratively with ramp agents, supervisors, and airport staff




Eligibility Criteria:



  • Minimum Education: Grade 10/Matric or equivalent

  • Age: 18+ years

  • Language: Basic English communication skills required

  • Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift 25–30 kg repeatedly and work in all weather conditions

  • Experience: Not required — training will be provided

  • Valid South African ID and ability to pass airport background checks

  • Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays




Preferred Attributes:



  • Team-oriented, reliable, and punctual

  • Strong awareness of safety procedures and airport regulations

  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, or physical labor roles is a plus

  • Valid driver’s license (advantageous for operating GSE vehicles)
