Job Summary:


FlySafair is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Airport Operations Coordinator to oversee and streamline ground operations across check-in, baggage handling, boarding, and aircraft turnaround. As a critical link between airline staff, airport authorities, and third-party service providers, you will play a key role in ensuring on-time performance and a smooth experience for both passengers and crew.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate daily airport operations including check-in counters, boarding gates, and arrivals

  • Monitor and ensure timely turnaround of aircraft with ground handling partners

  • Liaise with security, baggage, ramp, and airside teams for seamless coordination

  • Resolve on-the-ground issues such as flight delays, offloads, or equipment malfunctions

  • Ensure compliance with airport safety regulations and airline SOPs

  • Update and report to Flight Operations and Ground Control on status and incidents

  • Support passenger experience by responding to escalations and operational disruptions

  • Maintain records and operational documentation as per FlySafair and CAA requirements




Minimum Requirements:



  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric); diploma in Aviation Management or related field preferred

  • Experience: 1–3 years in airport operations or ground handling (required)

  • Skills Required:



    • Strong multitasking and coordination abilities

    • Excellent communication (verbal & written)

    • Tech-savvy with familiarity in DCS (Departure Control Systems)

    • Calm under pressure with a solution-focused mindset



  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain an airport access permit

  • Willing to work shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays
