Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company (or approved personal) vehicle to complete scheduled pick‑ups and deliveries within designated time windows.
- Verify packages against manifests; load, secure, and unload parcels to prevent damage or loss.
- Use our driver application for navigation, proof of delivery (POD), exception logging, and route optimization.
- Provide courteous, solution‑oriented service to customers at the door; handle COD, returns, and re-delivery requests per policy.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections; promptly report defects, incidents, or near-misses.
- Comply with all traffic laws, company SOPs, and safety standards (including PPE usage and manual‑handling guidelines).
- Escalate delivery exceptions (incorrect address, customer unavailable, damaged parcel, etc.) in real time.
- Maintain delivery accuracy, first‑attempt success rate, and on‑time performance KPIs.
- Support hub/warehouse teams with sorting, bagging, and line‑haul loading during peak volumes when required.
- Protect customer data and company assets, following all security and confidentiality procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Valid Code 08 or Code 10 driver’s license (unendorsed). A valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) / PDP (if legally required in your region) is an advantage or may be mandatory.
- Clean driving record and proven knowledge of local traffic rules and city routes.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move parcels up to the stipulated weight limit (typically 20–25 kg) safely.
- Smartphone literacy: comfortable using GPS, scanning apps, and messaging tools.
- Strong communication skills in English (additional local languages are a plus).
- High integrity, punctuality, and a customer-first mindset.
- Basic numeracy for handling COD payments, mileage logs, and simple reconciliation.
- Eligibility to work in the country/region of operation.

- In-depth understanding of local geography, traffic patterns, shortcuts, and high-density delivery zones.
- Safe loading, stacking, and manual handling techniques.
- Time management and prioritization—capable of meeting tight delivery SLAs.
- Problem-solving under pressure (e.g., route diversions, customer not available, weather disruptions).
- Professional demeanor and conflict resolution skills when dealing with customers and road users.
- Basic vehicle care knowledge (tyre checks, oil, fluid levels, emergency procedures).
Benefits
- Competitive base pay plus performance-based incentives (on-time rate, delivery quality, customer feedback).
- Overtime and shift allowances where applicable.
