Job Summary
FoodNest Eatery is looking for energetic, guest-obsessed Waiters/Waitresses to deliver warm, fast and flawless service in our vibrant casual dining restaurant. You will be the face of our brand on the floor—welcoming guests, guiding them through the menu, taking accurate orders, coordinating with the kitchen/bar, and ensuring every table leaves happy. Key Responsibilities
- Greet, seat, and engage guests with a friendly, professional demeanour.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, upsell add-ons (starters, desserts, beverages) and answer questions about ingredients and preparation.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems; verify modifications/allergies clearly with the kitchen.
- Serve food and drinks promptly, following service sequence and presentation standards.
- Monitor tables proactively—refill water, clear plates, anticipate guest needs, and resolve complaints with empathy and speed.
- Process bills, handle multiple payment methods, and reconcile receipts accurately.
- Coordinate closely with kitchen, bar, and hostess teams to ensure smooth service flow and minimal wait times.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of tables, stations, cutlery, and service areas in compliance with health & safety standards.
- Support opening/closing duties (stocking, polishing cutlery/glassware, rolling cutlery, side work, section setup).
- Follow all SOPs related to food safety, allergen management, and responsible alcohol service.
- Participate in team briefings, menu tastings, and ongoing training.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident, courteous, and guest-centric.
- Strong multitasking ability and composure under pressure during peak hours.
- Basic math and cash-handling accuracy; comfortable using POS systems.
- Attention to detail with a passion for cleanliness, presentation, and consistent service quality.
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods and carry trays/plates safely.
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards.
- Fluency in English (additional local language skills are a plus).
Experience
- Preferred: 6–24 months of experience as a Waiter/Waitress or Front-of-House Associate in a casual or fast-casual restaurant.
- Freshers with the right attitude, energy, and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply—we provide structured training.
- Prior knowledge of basic food & beverage service etiquette and POS operation is an advantage.
Working Hours
- Rotational shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays (typical service windows: lunch and dinner).
- Full-time and part-time schedules available; overtime may be required during peak seasons or special events.
- Breaks provided as per company policy and local labour regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of basic food hygiene and safety practices.
- Familiarity with allergen awareness and special dietary requirements.
- Menu knowledge (ingredients, preparation methods, portion sizes) and ability to make confident recommendations.
- Team player mindset with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
- Time management and prioritisation skills to handle multiple tables efficiently.
- Conflict resolution and complaint-handling skills with professionalism.
