Job Summary
ShieldSecure Guards is seeking vigilant, customer-focused Security Guards to protect people, property, and assets across our retail stores and office premises. You will be the first line of defence—conducting access control, patrolling, monitoring CCTV, responding to incidents, and delivering a calm, professional presence that reassures staff, visitors, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Control access to premises: verify IDs, manage visitor logs, issue passes, and enforce entry/exit procedures.
- Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols to deter theft, vandalism, and unsafe behaviour.
- Monitor CCTV/ alarm systems, promptly escalating suspicious activity or system alerts.
- Provide immediate response to incidents, emergencies, medical situations, and alarms; coordinate with law enforcement, fire, or medical services when required.
- Write clear, accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and handover notes.
- Enforce company security policies, SOPs, and compliance requirements (e.g., fire safety, evacuation protocols).
- Perform bag checks and loss-prevention activities in retail environments with tact and professionalism.
- Assist with crowd control during peak hours, events, and emergencies.
- Conduct safety checks (fire extinguishers, emergency exits, lighting, panic alarms) and report hazards.
- Offer exceptional customer service—provide directions, support staff, and act as a calm point of contact.
- Participate in drills, ongoing training, and continuous improvement of site security plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid security guard license/registration as mandated by local regulations (e.g., PSARA or state equivalent, where applicable).
- Basic first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency in writing concise reports and using basic computer systems/CCTV software.
- Strong situational awareness, observation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; able to de‑escalate conflict professionally.
- Physically fit and able to stand/walk for extended periods and respond quickly in emergencies.
- Integrity, reliability, and a high level of personal professionalism.
Experience
- Preferred: 1–3 years of experience as a Security Guard in retail, corporate/office, hospitality, or industrial settings.
- Advantageous: Background in the military, police, firefighting, or other disciplined forces.
- Entry-Level Candidates: Considered if they demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, discipline, and a willingness to train.
Working Hours
- Rotational shifts (day, evening, night), typically 8/10/12-hour shifts depending on site requirements.
- Weekend and public holiday coverage as per duty roster.
- Overtime/extra shifts may be available based on operational needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of access control systems, visitor management, and key control procedures.
- Familiarity with CCTV operations, alarm panels, and radio communication protocols.
- Understanding of emergency response, evacuation drills, and fire safety procedures.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure, think clearly, and act decisively.
- Cultural sensitivity and professionalism when interacting with diverse groups.
- Ethical decision-making and respect for confidentiality and data protection.
