Job Summary


Fresher Jobs Hub is hiring passionate, tech-comfortable English Teachers based in (or willing to relocate to) Cape Town to deliver high-quality virtual lessons to adult and young-learner students worldwide. This is a fully remote role with guaranteed paid teaching hours, structured curricula, ongoing academic support, and clear growth pathways (Senior Teacher, Mentor, QA Reviewer, Trainer).




Key Responsibilities



  • Teach engaging 1:1 and small-group online English classes (General, Business, Exam Prep such as IELTS/TOEFL).

  • Follow and adapt provided lesson plans to suit student goals, proficiency levels, and learning styles.

  • Track learner progress, assess performance, and provide actionable feedback and homework.

  • Maintain accurate lesson records, attendance, and student reports on our LMS.

  • Participate in calibration/QA sessions, periodic training, and peer observations.

  • Uphold safeguarding, data privacy, and academic integrity standards.

  • Contribute to content improvement by sharing classroom insights with the academic team.

  • Be punctual, professional, and proactive in communication with students and internal teams.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree (Education, English, Linguistics or related preferred).

  • TEFL/TESOL/CELTA (120+ hours) or equivalent accredited teaching certification.

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English (C2 level or native-equivalent).

  • Confident with online teaching platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams) and LMS tools.

  • Strong lesson delivery, classroom management, and feedback skills.

  • Reliable high-speed internet, a quiet professional workspace, HD webcam, and quality headset.




Experience



  • Minimum: 0–1 year of online or classroom teaching (strongly motivated freshers with certification are welcome).

  • Preferred: 1–3 years teaching ESL/EFL to adults or teens, exam-prep experience (IELTS/TOEFL/CAE), or business English delivery.




Working Hours



  • Guaranteed hours: A fixed minimum of paid teaching hours per week (shared during offer stage).

  • Multiple shift options to cover global time zones (early mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends).

  • Additional paid hours available during peak seasons.

  • Stable, pre-scheduled timetables with buffer time for admin and preparation.




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Deep understanding of CEFR levels (A1–C2), communicative language teaching (CLT), and task-based learning.

  • Ability to differentiate instruction and use formative assessments.

  • Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to build rapport in virtual environments.

  • Strong written feedback and error-correction techniques.

  • Data-driven mindset: comfortable interpreting learner analytics and attendance metrics.

  • Continuous improvement attitude—open to coaching, QA feedback, and new methodologies.
