Job Summary


Hospital Jobs is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Online Medical Proofreader and Editor to join our remote team. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy, clarity, and quality of medical documents, research papers, clinical reports, and healthcare-related content. Your expertise will support healthcare professionals by delivering error-free, well-edited material that upholds the highest standards of medical writing. Key Responsibilities



  • Proofread and edit medical manuscripts, reports, articles, clinical trial documentation, and other healthcare-related texts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and consistency.

  • Verify medical terminology, dosage information, and clinical data for accuracy and compliance with current medical standards.

  • Collaborate with medical writers, researchers, and healthcare professionals to clarify ambiguities and ensure clarity in content.

  • Ensure all documents comply with the required style guides such as AMA, APA, or journal-specific formats.

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive medical information with utmost professionalism.

  • Meet deadlines consistently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Use specialized editing software and tools to streamline proofreading processes.

  • Provide constructive feedback and suggestions to improve overall content quality.



Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, or related field.

  • Proven experience in medical proofreading and editing, preferably in an online or remote setting.

  • Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology.

  • Familiarity with medical style guides (AMA, APA, Chicago, etc.).

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot errors that others might miss.

  • Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and editing/proofreading software tools.

  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with authors and medical professionals.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a remote work environment.



Experience



  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical proofreading and editing or a similar role.

  • Experience with medical research papers, clinical trial reports, healthcare communications, or pharmaceutical documentation is highly preferred.



Working Hours



  • Flexible working hours with a fully remote setup.

  • Ability to meet deadlines is crucial; however, you can arrange your schedule to balance productivity and personal commitments.

  • Part-time and full-time availability considered based on project demands.
