  • Perform functional, regression, sanity, smoke, cross-browser, API, and basic performance testing.

  • Log, track, and verify defects using standard bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, ClickUp).

  • Execute manual tests and (if you have the skills) contribute to basic automation scripts using frameworks such as Selenium/Cypress/Playwright.

  • Test across web, mobile, and API layers; validate UI/UX consistency and accessibility basics.

  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA members to clarify requirements and prioritize fixes.

  • Maintain and update test documentation, regression suites, and QA dashboards/metrics.

  • Participate in sprint ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, defect triage) during overlapping hours with the core team.

  • Proactively suggest process, tooling, and test coverage improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, test design techniques (boundary value, equivalence partitioning, etc.).

  • Ability to write clear, reproducible bug reports and concise test documentation.

  • Familiarity with bug/test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, Google Sheets).

  • Basic understanding of APIs and ability to test them with tools like Postman/Insomnia.

  • Comfortable using Git/GitHub/GitLab basics (nice to have).

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills.

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, async-first setup.

Nice to Have (Not Mandatory):

  • Exposure to Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Puppeteer, or similar automation frameworks.

  • Knowledge of at least one scripting/programming language (JavaScript, Python, or Java).

  • ISTQB/CP-SAT or similar certification.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).

  • Familiarity with performance, security, or accessibility testing fundamentals.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in software testing or QA (internships, projects, bootcamps count).

  • Freshers with strong fundamentals and sample test case/bug report portfolios are welcome.

Working Hours

  • 15–25 hours per week (flexible).

  • Must be available for overlapping collaboration window (e.g., 11:00–15:00 IST) on select weekdays for stand-ups, defect triage, or demos.

  • Weekend/after-hours testing cycles may occasionally be needed before key releases (with prior notice).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Meticulous eye for detail and a passion for breaking things (productively!).

  • Structured thinking and disciplined documentation habits.

  • Time management and ability to juggle multiple projects/tasks.

  • A learning mindset with curiosity to explore tools, frameworks, and new testing methods.

  • Ability to work remotely, communicate proactively, and meet deadlines.

Benefits

  • Remote-first, flexible schedule suited for students and early-career professionals.

  • Competitive part-time stipend / hourly compensation.

  • Mentorship from experienced QA/Engineering leaders.

  • Training resources + certification reimbursement (for select QA certifications).

  • Clear career pathway into Manual QA, Automation QA, or SDET tracks.

  • Performance-based extensions and full-time conversion opportunities.

  • Referral bonuses and recognition programs.
